I am a man of fewer words . . .

If “a picture is worth a thousand words,” then this blog is the visual equivalent of the longest book you’ve ever read.

This blog catalogs the patterns and tessellations generated from a single tile of my own design. I encourage you to read the pages in the menu bar above for more information.

There are basically two kinds of posts on this blog. The first kind of post shows fifteen patterns identified by their symmetry group and the number of shapes in the tessellation.

The second kind of post takes one of the patterns from the previous post and treats it as a reduction puzzle. The post shows the steps necessary to merge the shapes into a 1-shape tessellation (if possible).

With that said, sit back and “look at the pretty pictures.”
