Woven Applique Celtic Knots (or, WACKs) are simple Celtic knots I make in different media (paper and fabric) using a variety of methods (mainly raw edge fusible).
Here is today’s WACK:

First, I downloaded and printed two copies of Style A five by five Celtic knot, series 1. There are two pages in the file, one for the left side of the knot and one for the right side.

I trimmed away the excess paper and taped the two sections together for both sets of copies.

Next, I cut out the individual loops.

I positioned Loop B on top of Loop A.

I cut Loop B open where it crosses under Loop A (refer to the original drawing). Starting in the lower left corner, I wove Loop B around Loop A.
That’s what it looks like on paper. Here’s what it looks like in fabric.

Go ahead. Give it a try.
I just wanted to say thank you for the free download templates! They’re amazing and have been brilliant in helping me make a wedding celebration quilt for my oldest friend. I traced the patterens then used a twin needle to quilt it and it looks great. I’d be happy to upload some pics for you to see if you tell me how. I’m so delighted with the way the whole thing has turned out. Thanks again!
You’re very welcome, Cathy.
I’d love to see how the quilt turned out.
