Introduction to Woven Applique . . .

I have seemingly come full circle. I guess that’s to be expected when dealing with Celtic knots.

I rejected the notion of making Celtic knots using bias tape from the start, even though bias tape was the obvious choice. It had the flexibility to go around curves, but it had limited width.

Instead of following a mere path, I wanted to make a Celtic knot boulevard. I focused on the shapes the path made, and enlarged them to suit. There was a problem with alignment, though.

Now, I’m looking at the bigger picture. Rather than looking at the individual shapes that form a path, I’m looking at the shape of the path itself. The path of a Celtic knot is basically a loop, interwoven with other loops.

But, how do you weave them together??
